Gender Representation Among Presenters in Ophthalmology Subspecialties in 2019: A Retrospective Review.

Gender representation varied, with fewer than expected female presenters in glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, and pediatrics. Women led relatively more clinical sessions but were underrepresented in surgical sessions in most subspecialties.

The number of applicants who matched in glaucoma fellowship increased from 2010 to 2019. Factors associated with matching in glaucoma were graduating from a U.S. residency program and completing more interviews.
