Variations and trends in global disease burden of age-related macular degeneration: 1990-2017.
Being female, older age, poor socioeconomic status and less educated are associated with a heavier disease burden of AMD. These findings would provide a basic understanding for policy making on AMD prevention and treatment.
In-the-Bag Versus Ciliary Sulcus Secondary Intraocular Lens Implantation for Pediatric Aphakia: A Prospective Comparative Study.
Compared with ciliary sulcus secondary IOL implantation, in-the-bag IOL implantation reduced AEs and yielded better IOL centration and BCVA for pediatric aphakia.
How Does Cataract Surgery Rate Affect Angle-closure Prevalence.
Our study indicated that with CSR increased, the OA prevalence could decrease remarkably especially in the older population.
Associations between serum lipids and glaucoma: a cohort study of 400 229 UK Biobank participants.
Elevated HDL-C is associated with an increased risk of glaucoma, while elevated LDL-C, TC, and TG levels are associated with a lower risk of glaucoma.
Effect of High Myopia on Dynamic Changes of Anterior Angle After Pharmacologic Mydriasis in Cataract Patients: A SS-ASOCT Study.
The anterior chamber angle decreased after pharmacologic mydriasis in these patients with cataract. Angle shallowing after pharmacologic mydriasis was significantly less pronounced in high myopic eyes than in non-high myopic eyes.
Microspherophakia with Novel Gene Mutations in a Young Girl.
Predicting the risk of glaucoma-related adverse events following secondary intraocular lens implantation in paediatric eyes: a 3-year study.
Two nomograms could sensitively and accurately identify children at high risk of GRAEs after secondary IOL implantation to help early identification and timely intervention.
Does Myopia Affect Angle Closure Prevalence.
The increasing prevalence of myopia has minimal impact on the prevalence of OA.
