Uveo-scleral outflow pathways after ultrasonic cyclocoagulation in refractory glaucoma: an anterior segment optical coherence tomography and in vivo confocal study.
UCCC induced anatomical modifications of sclera and conjunctiva, which suggested that the trans-scleral AH outflow enhancement is one of the possible mechanisms exploited by ultrasounds to reduce IOP.
SD-OCT Choroidal Thickness in Advanced Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma.
Patients affected by advanced POAG damage have a thinner choroidal thickness compared with normal subjects, using SD-OCT. We also confirmed that age and axial length were the main factors affecting choroidal thickness in these patients.
Long-term Outcomes of a Modified Technique Using the Baerveldt Glaucoma Implant for the Treatment of Refractory Glaucoma.
This modified technique achieved a high percentage of surgical success during the whole follow-up time and was effective in preventing the most serious immediate complications of nonvalved tube shunts.
Comment on the Paper by Mondzelewski and Colleagues: "Intraocular Pressure During Robotic-assisted Laparoscopic Procedures Utilizing Steep Trendelenburg Positioning." J Glaucoma. 2015;24(6):399-404.
Nonpenetrating Foldable Intrastromal Keratoprosthesis: A Review of the Literature.
Despite the limited quality and quantity of evidence, the available literature seems to suggest the KK to be a valuable tool in the treatment of complicated corneal disorders.
Clinical recommendations for early identification of patients with open-angle glaucoma at higher risk of low adherence to topical treatment: An Italian Delphi consensus.
Taken together our results allow us to profile patients with glaucoma who will be more likely to show poor adherence to topical treatments.
Italian glaucoma virtual clinics: Developing a consensus for remote patient management.
This Delphi panel provides guidance for implementing glaucoma virtual clinics in Italy, establishing guidelines on patient selection, required assessments and staffing needs.
In Vivo Goblet Cell Density as a Potential Indicator of Glaucoma Filtration Surgery Outcome.
Goblet cells positively affect the filtration ability after trabeculectomy; therefore, preoperative GCD could be considered as a potential in vivo biomarker of surgical success.
Corneoscleral limbus in glaucoma patients: in vivo confocal microscopy and immunocytological study.
Laser scanning confocal microscopy and IC documented antiglaucoma therapy induced morphologic alterations of limbus, which may play a role in the glaucoma-related ocular surface disease.
