Optic disc and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer characteristics associated with glaucomatous optic disc in young myopia.
Optic disc tilt was found in approximately one-third of young myopic eyes and was independently associated with the presence of GOD.
Myopic glaucomatous eyes with or without optic disc shape alteration: a longitudinal study.
Significant differences in glaucomatous progression were found between eyes with and without optic disc shape alterations, particularly disc tilt. More localised and stable courses of glaucoma progression were observed in eyes with tilted optic discs.
Progression of primary open angle glaucoma in asymmetrically myopic eyes.
The degree of myopia was not associated with glaucoma progression when assessing the same patient using either the VF or optic disc/RNFL criteria in asymmetrically myopic patients.
Implications of Optic Disc Tilt in the Progression of Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma.
Myopic eyes with tilted disc demonstrated a smaller probability of glaucomatous progression. Optic disc tilt may be protective against glaucoma progression, or tilted myopic glaucomatous eyes may have less progressive characteristic by nature.
